Bespoke and all-encompassing, our Best of Africa is a traveller’s dream come true. This is a 57 day package fine tuned to include iconic regions, national parks and experiences upon Africa’s expanse across 8 exceptional countries.
Namibia’s amber sands immediately set us into a world of haunting beauty. From the Namib Desert’s famous Deadvlei and Dune 45, to the Fish River Canyon’s gorge, there is nothing short of utterly stunning to be seen from sunrise to sunset. Swakopmund offers a twist of adrenaline optionals, like sandboarding and quadbiking. Sunbaked and yet profuse in wildlife, Etosha National Park is outstanding for its stark alien landscape.
In contrast, the Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA), a remarkable cross-border conservation initiative across territories of five African nations, offers a viridian world to delve into. Journey into the waterways of Botswana’s Okavango Delta, with safari and boat cruises galore to view the wildlife among the mosaic of reeds, including a mokoro excursion to immerse you into a wetland paradise. Continuing in a riverine domain, the Chobe River gifts vistas of wildlife flocking to its banks, including herds of crossing elephants and pods of hippos. The rhythm of Victoria Falls’ roar takes us deeper into the continent, but not without the view of its cascade.
Within Zambia, we embark on a tale with vibrant, handmade curios and a trip into the incredible South Luangwa National Park, which takes us on 4×4 or, optionally, on-foot through its wild savannah. Malawi’s warm hospitality and its lake offer tranquil hikes, snorkeling, or rest beside its cobalt gleam.
Tanzania brings a host of highlights, boasting aromas of coffee, spices and sea-salt. The turquoise waters of Zanzibar are well-known for their oceanic excursions alongside its tropical island charm. A twist of culture, Stone Town brings winding alleys and an extensive history. Northward lie Tanzania’s crown jewels: the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti. Hotspots for wildlife encounters, you never leave without a wonderful sighting.
Following the path of the Great Migration we enter Kenya, and subsequently travel to Masai Mara. A bucket-list locale, this acacia and succulent dotted horizon is teeming with beasts hiding in the grassland. Ascending up the Great Rift Valley, we visit destinations like Lake Nukuru before passing into Uganda, returning much later for other areas filled with cultural flare and wildlife.
In Uganda, the “Pearl of Africa,” Murchison Falls Park and other locales are jungle havens. From Murchison Falls ripping the Nile, to Budongo Forest’s chimpanzee encounters, there is no uninteresting moment. Uganda’s prized highlight takes place in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Gorilla trekking delivers an intimate encounter that imprints the soul while Golden Monkey trekking beckons those seeking the rare. Travelling with purpose, this encounter goes straight to conserving these critically endangered species.
Returning to Kenya’s Nairobi, our once-in-a-lifetime tour comes to a close, an expedition that makes any traveller into an explorer.
