The lodge operates with a good sustainability concept and is quickly accessible by inexpensive cab from the city centre. Kilimanjaro International Airport can be reached by transfer in 45 minutes. Arrivals and departures are possible at any time of the day.
Accommodation: The 25 spacious rooms are all friendly, bright and furnished in modern African decor. All have comfortable beds with mosquito nets, fans, storage, seating, and private spacious bathrooms with hot water and toilet.
Restaurant: The restaurant offers a delicious selection of international and Indian dishes and in the bar you have the opportunity to toast to an unforgettable tour. In the restaurant area there is free wi-fi for every visitor.
You will be picked up at your hotel and will go on a three-hour drive to the East African Rift in the Lake Manyara National Park. When you get there, the roof will be opened up for the first game drive. You will cross the forest and keep your eyes open for monkeys of all different species, elephants lumbering between the trees and many other inhabitants of the forest. You are certain to encounter large herds of buffalos, zebras, wildebeests and giraffes in the grass covered flood plains. Also look at the trees – you might see a lion dozing on the branches. At the marshy riversides of the Lake Manyara salt lake, you will find water birds like flamingos, pelicans and cormorants.
Location: Kirurumu Manyara Lodge is situated on the edge of the Rift Valley and offers a magnificent panoramic view over Lake Manyara. Behind Kirurumu the gate to the Ngorongoro Crater opens.
Accommodation: The camp consists of 27 tented houses, 2 suites and 2 family houses. All have their own veranda. The tented houses are equipped with beds, mosquito net, chairs and a private bathroom with shower and toilet.
Restaurant: In the open dining tent a great breakfast is offered, including freshly baked bush bread. Dinner is prepared from regional dishes. With a drink from the bar and the campfire you can end the day. W-Lan is offered in designated areas.
After breakfast, you will head to the famous Serengeti National Park. On your way, you will pass the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the “African Eden”, which has a very rich variety of vegetation and species. Soft hills, dormant volcanoes and stunning jungles provide a breath-taking view. During migration from January to March, millions of wildebeests and zebras pass the Serengeti Plains and the edges of Ngorongoro. When you enter Serengeti through the Nabi Gate, you will have an impressive first impression.
Location: Narudi Camp is based in Seronera Area in the Plains of Serengeti National Park. From here you can watch the zebra herds and start to the air balloon safari.
Accommodation: The camp has 6 tents with a large dinning tent. Each tent is set up elevated on a wooden platform and provides beds with a side table and a mosquito net, a bathroom with warm shower and a collection of fine soap. You will also find an open closet and an area with comfortable armchairs. Restaurant: Food shall never be a question, wherever you are taking a lunchbox or a Dinner at the Lodge. The Chef will cater for your meals.
This day begins in the heart of Serengeti, the Seronera Valley, among umbrella thorn acacias and huge fig trees. The range of hills in the north feed several waterholes which attract numerous impalas, antelopes, reedbucks and baboons. Hippos splash around in the water, leopards rest on the acacias and lions take naps in the high grass. This day is completely devoted to game drives in Serengeti. You can decide how you would like to organize the day.
In the morning, you leave the Serengeti National Park and its wildlife. After the rains, the green hills are covered with lush grass, which is favoured by free-roaming wild animals such as zebras, wildebeests and giraffes, as well as Maasai cattle. Although the temperature drops below 10 degrees in the rainy season, they prefer to settle in this environment. Afterwards, you will drive over the Ngorongoro Crater Rim towards Karatu. On the Ngorongoro Viewpoint you might take the chance to stop for another picture. As you descend into Karatu Farmland, the temperature will rise again.
Location: In the centre of Karatu is the Kudu Lodge with a well-tended green garden. You can stay here if you are planning game drives in the Ngorongoro Crater or Lake Manyara National Park.
Accommodation: In addition to a centrally located restaurant and pool, the lodges offer around 30 double rooms. The rooms are spacious with bean bags and a desk as well as a dressing room. The rooms have a view of the green garden and the colourful bird life sings in the most beautiful tones when you wake up in the morning.
Restaurant: Breakfast is served here in the form of a buffet and dinner as a 3-course menu. The kitchen has a good reputation.
It is still dark when you set off on your drive into the Ngorongoro Crater. After a few kilometres you will reach the park entrance, and you may already spot the first animals - lions, monkeys or buffalo. They are not uncommon here! From the crater rim, you have a great view into the crater bowl before you drive down the steep slope to the crater floor. Always have your camera to hand, because nowhere else is the density of animals higher than here. The crater, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is home to almost all species of East African wildlife. With a bit of luck, you might spot the endangered black rhino, which is one of the “Big Five” along with buffalo, lions, elephants and leopards! In the afternoon, continue to Tarangire National Park. Driving distance: 240 km Game drive: 4-5h Driving time: 4h.
Location: The Standard Tent at Sangaiwe Mbuyu Tented Lodge is set on a raised wooden platform near Tarangire National Park, offering views of the surrounding landscape. It includes either twin or king-sized beds with mosquito netting, a writing desk, luggage space, and a private deck. The en-suite bathroom has a dressing area, flush toilet, and solar-heated shower. The tent provides a simple and comfortable base for exploring the park, with easy access through the nearby Sangaiwe Gate.
After a hearty breakfast, you set off on an exciting game drive through the diverse landscapes of Tarangire. The savannah stretches endlessly before you, with acacia trees standing like sentinels against the azure sky. As the day progresses, Tarangire reveals its wonders - herds of graceful giraffe roam the plains and a leopard loll in the branches. But the adventure is not over yet. With the impressions of the day in mind, you make your way to Arusha and follow the winding road that leads back to civilization. Driving distance: 150 km Game drive: 3-4 hrs. Driving time: 4 hrs.
