Beginning in Maun, the journey opens in the heart of Botswana’s Okavango Delta with a transfer to the Khwai Conservation Area. Drift silently through mirrored waterways on a mokoro (traditional canoe) excursion, surrounded by reeds and abundant wildlife. A full-day safari follows in the Moremi Game Reserve, famous for its dense biodiversity and endangered species.
Next, pass through Maun to Nata for a stay at Elephant Sands, where elephants roam freely and gather outside your threshold at a local watering hole. In Chobe National Park, a sunrise bush walk and tranquil afternoon boat cruise offer unforgettable wildlife encounters.
Crossing into Zimbabwe, witness the majesty of Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Here, options range from scenic helicopter rides to adrenaline-pumping whitewater rafting. Our next destination brings us into Zambia, aiming for the esteemed South Luwanga Nation Park, where you’ll be treated to a sunset safari and have the option to join a walking safari, treating you to an intimate look into this wilderness. En route, stop at Mulberry Mongoose Curios, where local women craft jewelry from recovered poachers’ snares.
Entering Malawi, relax along the crystalline shores of Lake Malawi. Sun-soaked days include swimming, optional hikes to Dwanbazi Waterfall, and laid-back exploration. The route then winds into Tanzania, pausing in Iringa to learn about local coffee harvesting.
Mikumi National Park welcomes visitors with striking baobabs and chances to spot elephants, lions, and more. After an overnight stay in Dar es Salaam or Bagamoyo, a ferry carries the group to Zanzibar. This spice-laden island is explored through a guided walk in Stone Town and a Spice Tour, with plenty of time to snorkel, relax at beach bars, or embark on marine safaris.
Returning to mainland Tanzania, the path leads through Bagamoyo and Moshi, stopping at Mto wa Mbu Market before reaching the Serengeti. An early start brings you to the absolute wonder that is the Ngorongoro Crater and a day of searching its basin for animals. A full day in the Serengeti follows, with sweeping plains, golden grasses, and abundant wildlife sightings. A hot air balloon safari offers a spectacular optional finale.
The journey ends across the Kenyan border in Nairobi, closing a sweeping adventure through Southern and Eastern Africa, filled with water-laden landscapes and spectacular sections of wilderness.
