A venture composed in every earth tone Africa has to offer, from the saffron coloured dunes of Namibia to the viridian caldera of the Ngorongoro Crater, this 40-day excursion is a festival celebrating Africa’s quintessential experiences. This route is no mere tour; it is a pilgrimage stitched in stars, soul and safari.
Beginning in the capital of Kenya, Nairobi, we follow the call of Tanzania’s Serengeti, where grasses are cast in gold at sunset. You’ll begin with a full day safari across the plains, roaming alongside Africa’s iconic wildlife. The great Ngorongoro Crater, a caldera surrounded in peaks, brims with animals across its expanse. From this crescendo of wilderness, you drift toward Zanzibar, where time dissolves into salt air and spice-laden breezes. Stone Town’s alleys unfold stories both modern and historical, while the coral-trimmed sea brings beach-side paradise and amazing water activities.
As you glide south, Malawi’s lake lies like a sapphire cupped in green palms, providing another glimpse into Eden. South Luangwa greets you next with sunsets like spilled fire and wildlife that moves through the hazy dusk, offering an unconventional walking safari. The globally sought sight of Victoria Falls thrums your very bones with the cascade of the Zambezi pouring over into the gorge.
En route to the Okavango Delta, we enter the Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA), which is a remarkable cross-border conservation initiative, merging the territories of five African nations. Days of Botswana’s lifeblood, its water, immerses you in sanctuaries of wilderness, such as Chobe National Park, Khwai Conservation Area and Moremi. Among the reeds and channels, skim along water via mokoro, 4×4 safari and boat.
Etosha National Park draws wildlife to its lunar-esque landscape to ephemeral waterholes, a stage for astonishing sightings and encounters. Namibia’s deserts rise as frozen waves, delivering you to Dune 45’s climb, Deadvlei’s trees and Seserium’s Canyon. At Swakopmund, adrenaline and sea-spray mingle, while Brandberg’s prehistoric rock art still holds memories of the San people. Tracing the massive Fish River Canyon’s rim, you will be led down Namaqualand and finally to the zesty coastal city of Cape Town, bringing this unforgettable African odyssey to a full stop.
