Your Tour Experience
Gorillas Rwanda is a 7-day hosted journey built around a single extraordinary encounter: tracking endangered mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park. Around that centrepiece day, the itinerary adds a guided Kigali city tour with a visit to the Genocide Memorial, and three days in Akagera National Park, Rwanda's only Big Five reserve.
What makes this route distinctive is how much ground it covers in a single small country and a short timeframe -- primates, culture and Big Five game viewing without the long overland transfers that a multi-country safari requires. The stay at the historic Hotel des Mille Collines in Kigali and the hilltop Mantis Akagera Game Lodge add a sense of place to each stop.
It suits travellers who want Rwanda's signature gorilla trekking experience as the anchor of their trip, with a proper Big Five safari built in around it, rather than a rushed one- or two-night add-on. Minimum age for gorilla trekking is 15 years.
Comfort level is premium-hosted throughout: en-suite lodge accommodation (two guests per room) at every stop, qualified guides, and private transport as specified in the itinerary.
