Whether it’s a sunset boat cruise on a quiet river, a glass of wine by the fire, or waking up to birdsong in the bush, our itineraries are crafted to maximize unhurried, meaningful moments. Travel in smaller groups for a more personal experience, with expert guides who bring every story and sight to life. Premium Journeys strike the perfect balance of comfort and adventure, leaving you free to focus on the joy of discovery.
Self-drive travel refers to a type of travel where the traveler rents a vehicle and drives themselves, taking full responsibility for navigating, driving, and managing the trip. It allows for greater independence, flexibility, and control over the itinerary, pace, and stops along the way. Self-drive travel can offer a sense of adventure and freedom, but also requires good driving skills and knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations.
On the other hand, private guided travel involves hiring a professional guide who serves as a local guide and driver, and takes care of the driving responsibilities. The traveler can focus on enjoying the trip and the destination without the stress of driving. The driver-guide provides local knowledge, expertise, and recommendations, and can offer a more immersive and personalized experience. It can be more expensive than self-drive travel but provides convenience, safety, and local insights.
Your adventure begins in Maun, Botswana, where you’ll board a light aircraft for a breathtaking flight into the heart of the Okavango Delta. The short transfer offers sweeping views of winding waterways and glittering lagoons below. Due to the aircraft size, luggage must be packed in soft bags and limited to 20 kg per person, inclusive of hand luggage and camera gear. On arrival at the private airstrip, your guide will transfer you to camp, where a warm welcome and fireside dinner under the stars await.
The following morning begins at dawn with your first safari activity, when wildlife is at its most active. Elephants, antelope, and predators moving into hunting mode set the stage for incredible encounters. After brunch and relaxation at camp, the afternoon brings another game activity, ending with a sundowner before dinner.
Over the next two days, you’ll immerse yourself in the rhythm of the Delta, enjoying morning and afternoon excursions. During the green season, the floodplains burst into colour, alive with wildflowers, dramatic skies, and flocks of carmine bee-eaters, storks, and herons. Predator tracking and birding make each outing unique, with your guide interpreting the wilderness as it shifts with the seasons.
Day five allows full flexibility, giving you the freedom to choose activities that suit your interests—whether exploring deeper channels, focusing on birdlife, or searching for iconic big game. A final farewell dinner celebrates your safari experience.
On your last morning, enjoy a sunrise activity before flying back to Maun, carrying vivid memories of Africa’s wild heart.

Journey Itinerary
On arrival at Maun Airport you will be met by a representative and assisted to your light aircraft for the short scenic flight into the Okavango Delta. Please note that, due to the small aircraft used, luggage must be packed in soft-sided bags to fit safely into the aircraft compartments. A strict limit of 20 kg per person applies, inclusive of camera equipment and hand luggage, and hard cases cannot be accepted. To ensure passenger safety, all guests are required to provide their body weight at the time of booking. Guests weighing over 100 kg may be subject to an additional weight surcharge as stipulated by the charter company.
At dawn depart on your morning activity when wildlife is most active. Return to camp for brunch and time at leisure. In the afternoon, head out again for another safari activity, focusing on elephants, antelope herds, and predators moving into hunting mode as the day cools. A sundowner stop completes the experience before returning to camp for dinner.
Over the following 2 days, set out on morning activities, before returning to camp for a midday siesta. In the afternoon, we head out once again to enjoy our afternoon activity. The green season transforms the Okavango into a vibrant paradise of colour and life and highlights the spectacular birding for which the season is famous, from carmine bee-eaters to flocks of herons and storks following the waters. Wildlife sightings are often enhanced by dramatic skies and a lush backdrop of wildflowers and grasses.
Your last full day in the Delta is completely flexible and tailored to your interests and the various activities available at your camp. You may choose which activity to embark on to maximise your chances of memorable wildlife sightings. After a rewarding day in the wilderness, return to camp for a farewell dinner. It’s a fitting celebration of your journey into Africa’s wild heart.
Your safari is not quite over, there is still time for a final sunrise activity, the morning offers a chance to savour your last memories of the Delta. After breakfast, say farewell to the camp team and transfer to the airstrip for your light-aircraft flight to Maun. From here you connect with onward flights, carrying with you the vivid impressions of your Okavango adventure.
