Travel to Matemwe on the northeast coast for two blissful days at the Zanzibar Queen Hotel, where pristine beaches, yoga sessions, spa treatments, and ocean adventures await. End your stay with a scenic transfer to Zanzibar Airport, leaving with the island’s vibrant spirit and coastal serenity still fresh in your memory.

Journey Itinerary

Upon arrival at Zanzibar Airport, you will be met by your driver who will be transferring you to your accommodation.  Located in the heart of Stone Town on the picturesque seafront, Tembo House is just a three-minute walk from the Old Fort and a five-minute drive from the Zanzibar Port. The hotel is decorated in traditional Swahili style with antique furniture and ornaments, creating an authentic island atmosphere.  You can enjoy both local and international cuisine at the Bahari Restaurant or relax by the large courtyard pool, or explore Stone Town at leisure.

After breakfast you will check out of the hotel and embark on a guided City Tour of Stone Town, a vibrant and historic hub located about halfway along Zanzibar’s west coast. The city’s rich cultural heritage is brought to life as you explore, the famous Zanzibar doors, visit the bustling Darajani Market with its fresh tropical fruits and vegetables, and observe the lively fish market where auctions take place.  Historical highlights include the Sultan’s Palace Museum, the Old Arab Fort, the Anglican Church, the Underground Chambers, Tippu Tip’s House, the Old Slave Market, the Hammamni Persian Baths, the House of Wonders, and the Portuguese Arch.

In the afternoon, you will continue your exploration of Zanzibar with a Spice Tour, a guided walk through the island’s famous spice farms.  Learn about the wide variety of spices that have shaped Zanzibar’s economy and history since the 16th century.  This full day offers a fascinating insight into Zanzibar’s culture, history, and flavours, combining the vibrant streets of Stone Town with the fragrant spice plantations that make the island unique.  After your Spice tour, you will be transferred to Matemwe on Zanzibar’s northeast coast, home to one of the world’s most beautiful coral beaches.

During your stay, you can enjoy a variety of activities available at the hotel or choose to relax and rejuvenate at the hotel’s SPA, participate in daily yoga sessions, or take part in water sports such as snorkelling, diving, and fishing. For a quieter pace, stroll along the endless white sandy beach and soak in the stunning ocean views.  The Zanzibar Queen Hotel also practices sustainability, avoiding plastic waste by providing water dispensers throughout the resort instead of single-use plastic bottle.

After breakfast, your driver will collect you for the transfer back to Zanzibar Airport. On arrival at the airport, you will be assisted with your onward travel arrangements, marking the end of your unforgettable time on Zanzibar Island.
