Overview

Botswana on the Go takes you through the beautiful waterways of the Okavango Delta at an elevated level of comfort. From the Zambezi river, teeming with hippos and birdlife, travel inland into Khwai Nature Reserve for an intimate safari experience with wildlife.

Journey Itinerary

From Kasane, cross into Namibia’s lush Zambezi Region where the mighty Zambezi River winds through tropical scenery. Settle at Zambezi Mubala Lodge, a tranquil haven along the riverbank, home to vibrant Carmine Bee-eaters, playful monkeys, and the occasional hippo basking in the shallows. In the late afternoon, embark on a scenic sundowner cruise, drifting past palm-lined islands as the sky ignites in gold and crimson hues. Listen to the river’s gentle rhythm and the calls of African fish eagles echoing across the water, perfectly marking your first evening in this natural paradise.

Meals: Bed & Breakfast

The lodge offers an inviting atmosphere, featuring elegantly refurbished rooms and chalets designed for comfort and relaxation. Each free-standing Double Chalet includes a spacious en-suite bathroom, king-size bed, air conditioning, ceiling fan, tea and coffee facilities, and a private veranda offering peaceful garden and river views.

Guests can enjoy an afternoon at leisure, soaking in the tranquil surroundings before dinner at the lodge. For those seeking adventure, Kasane offers a variety of activities — from sunset cruises and Chobe National Park game drives to village visits and day trips to Victoria Falls. Whether unwinding by the river or exploring the nearby wilderness, this first stop sets the tone for an unforgettable safari experience in Botswana.

Included: Dinner
Overnight: River View Lodge, Kasane

Continue west to Divundu, a lush riverside village along the Okavango River and gateway to Mahango National Park. This tropical setting offers a striking contrast to Namibia’s arid interior, filled with greenery, birdsong, and cascading Popa Falls. In the afternoon, set out on a guided game drive through Mahango National Park to spot elephants, buffalo, lions, and antelope moving through the woodland. Return to the luxurious Divava Okavango Resort, nestled above the river, where you can unwind at the spa or watch the sunset from your private deck, surrounded by the sounds of the African bush. Meals: Bed & Breakfast

This morning, explore the Okavango River on a peaceful boat cruise. Glide between reed-fringed banks alive with kingfishers, bee-eaters, hippos, and crocodiles basking in the sun. Your guide shares insights into the river’s ecosystem as you pass by small islands dotted with waterbirds. In the afternoon, enjoy leisure time at the resort or opt for another short safari into Mahango National Park. As the sun dips toward the horizon, return for a tranquil evening of dining and relaxation overlooking the river, serenaded by the distant rush of Popa Falls. Meals: Bed & Breakfast

Cross into Botswana and travel to Mopiri, nestled on Weboro Lagoon in the Okavango Panhandle. The lush waterways here mark the start of the Delta’s vast network of channels, teeming with birds and aquatic life. After settling in, embark on the Mopiri Experience—a combination of boat cruise, barge ride, and mokoro adventure. Drift silently along glassy waters where papyrus reeds sway, and herons stand sentinel. Return to camp to enjoy sundowners on the deck as fish eagles call in the distance, surrounded by the peace and serenity of your private island lodge. Meals: Bed & Breakfast

Awake to the sounds of nature and spend the day exploring the wonders of the Okavango Delta. Choose between a traditional mokoro excursion, a nature walk on the island, or a visit to a nearby Etsha village to learn about local life in this watery world. Alternatively, enjoy a gentle barge cruise through the winding channels or relax with a spa treatment in the heart of nature. Whatever your pace, Mopiri offers a blend of adventure and calm in one of Africa’s most captivating ecosystems. Evenings invite stargazing under the vast Botswana sky. Meals: Bed & Breakfast

Journey south to Maun, the safari capital of Botswana, where the Thamalakane River meanders gently through tranquil woodlands. Your riverside lodge provides a serene setting to unwind after your Delta adventures. In the late afternoon, embark on a sunset cruise, drifting along the calm river while watching kingfishers and herons among the reeds. Enjoy a drink as the sun paints the water in warm amber tones before returning for a relaxed evening in your charming stone chalet. The peaceful rhythm of the river sets the perfect tone for the night ahead. Meals: Bed & Breakfast

Depart Maun and travel deep into the wilderness of Khwai, a private concession bordering Moremi Game Reserve. After settling into your luxury tent overlooking a serene lagoon, experience the magic of the Delta by mokoro. Glide quietly through lily-covered channels, watching elephants drinking from the banks and vibrant birds darting overhead. Khwai’s unspoiled beauty, unfenced landscapes, and abundant wildlife create a sense of true wilderness. As the sun sets, gather around the campfire for dinner and stories beneath a canopy of stars, immersed in the heart of Africa. Meals: Full Board

Wake to the call of African fish eagles and set off on morning and afternoon game drives through Khwai and nearby Moremi. Explore varied habitats—floodplains, riverine forests, and open savannah—teeming with elephants, lions, leopards, and herds of antelope. Enjoy coffee stops in the bush and sundowners beside a lagoon as the day fades. Between drives, relax in camp, soak in the views from your deck, or share stories with your guide. This immersive day captures the raw spirit of Botswana’s untamed wilderness at its most spectacular. Meals: Full Board

After a final breakfast in the wild, say farewell to the Khwai team and transfer back to Maun for your onward journey. Reflect on your adventure through Namibia and Botswana—from the mighty Zambezi to the Okavango’s serene waterways and the game-rich Khwai plains. You depart with lifelong memories of stunning sunsets, tranquil rivers, and unforgettable wildlife encounters. Meals: Bed & Breakfast
